Traumatic brain injuries related to car accidents

Traumatic brain injuries (TBI) can present the greatest challenges of any personal injuries.  The consequences of traumatic brain injuries are significant and demand a focused approach for the best possible outcome.

There are two main causes of traumatic brain injuries: (1) the interruption of oxygen supply to the brain; or, (2) trauma, usually caused by blunt force or penetration.  The resulting symptoms and disabilities are broad and can appear immediately or weeks after the injury.  Traumatic brain injuries are categorized as either mild or severe, depending on the extent and duration of the injury and resulting symptoms.  Most traumatic brain injuries impact a person's thinking, memory, movement, sensation, and/or emotional function.

Traumatic brain injuries are more often than not the result of someone else's negligence.  The most prevalent cause of traumatic brain injuries is car accidents.  They can also commonly result from workplace accidents, construction accidents, untreated aneurisms, or any other forceful impact to the head that disrupts normal functions.

Litigation resulting from a traumatic brain injury requires extensive experience and understanding.  With the uniqueness of each injury and potential delayed effects, it can be difficult to determine the extent, proper treatment, and long-term prognosis of a traumatic brain injury. At Miller Law Firm, we have years of experience representing people throughout the state of North Carolina who have suffered a traumatic brain injury. One of the most difficult aspects of cases involving traumatic brain injuries is that the injury cannot physically be seen. We utilize many tools and exhibits during mediation and trial that show exactly what has occurred inside the brain as a result of the injury. Please watch the video below which was used to explain the injuries caused in one of our recent traumatic brain injury cases.

If you or a loved one has suffered a traumatic brain injury or symptoms of a traumatic brain injury due to an accident or event involving others, contact Miller Law Firm to schedule a free consultation.
